WCAG 2.0 Level AA Required
Ontario organisations must meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA for all websites and web content. New public websites must comply, with all internet content covered under the Integrated Accessibility Standards.
Accessible Formats on Request
Organisations must provide accessible formats and communication supports to individuals with disabilities upon request, in a timely manner and at no additional cost.
Regular Compliance Reporting
Covered organisations must file compliance reports with the Ontario government on a scheduled basis. Non-compliance can result in significant financial penalties.
Staff Training Required
AODA requires that employees who interact with the public or develop customer-facing digital content receive accessibility awareness training.
